1.只要是钢架结构的拱棚（或者部分钢架），均可以采用。

普通竹木结构大棚承重性差，使用年限短，尤其是竹子腐烂快，棚体结构需要不断修补，因此不适宜安装拱棚卷帘机。

当前，山东昌乐、青州等地的拱棚，其两侧多为直立结构，与拱棚拱面有一个夹角。这样的棚体结构，不但会影响卷帘机的运行，还不容易与保温被贴合，从而影响保温效果。安装卷帘机的拱棚，以圆润的“面包棚”为好，不要有明显的棱角。

3.根据不同棚宽采用不同方案

与大棚相比，拱棚与外界的接触面更大，需要覆盖的地方更多。若拱棚较宽，保温被就需要更宽，卷起来太粗，影响卷帘机稳定性。如12米宽的拱棚，覆盖的保温被就需要15米以上，与最新的蔬菜大棚相当。

鉴于上述情况，根据拱棚宽度，本设计有二套方案：一是宽度10米左右的拱棚，可实现整体卷放，从棚一侧卷至另一侧地面。二是宽度远大于10米的拱棚，考虑到使用安全，可从中间始卷直至棚两侧地面。无论是哪种方案，目的旨在保温被卷收后，整个棚面不存在遮阳物，确保白天棚内阳光充足。
